Finding Vitality at CrossFit Roots

CrossFit Roots in Boulder, Colorado, offers a Vitality Program for members aged 55 and older. The program’s goal is to increase quality of life through increased functional fitness, strength, balance, flexibility and coordination. “The need for functional movement doesn’t stop at 60,” says CrossFit Roots owner Nicole Christensen. Coach Ryan Landis spearheaded the program. “I saw a need for people between the ages of roughly 60 to roughly 80,” Landis says. “When you get to be a certain age it really boils down to use it or lose it.” Vitality member Michele Nahas praises Landis’ attention to safety. “I have confidence now because Ryan incrementally increases the weight loads and I feel so safe,” Nahas says.
